Scoop School: Building Brand Equity

Posted by Destini Miller on

Building brand equity can be as simple as a straw. Scoop School gives us the rundown on how to build brand equity with your business' inventory.
Brand equity is conveying a consistent and concise message to your customers through logos, branding, and/or merchandising. This message encourages your customer to identify with your brand in unmarked objects.
For example, we all have come to love Baskin-Robbins ice cream, but there's a reason we can't see pink straws without thinking of them first. This is because Baskin-Robbins has built a reinforced message with their pink straws and matching spoons to remind their customers of their brand. You can use this same tactic at your own shop.
Scoop School suggests investing in color changing straws and spoons that will display a different color based on their temperature.
These simple kitchen utensils may seem minute, but they go a long way in developing relationships with your customers.
Aside from spoons and straws, there are many ways to display your brand throughout your merchandise. Plastic cups with logos are a great way to go if you want your customers to remember your brand. Trying new methods every couple of seasons will create a constant fluctuation of new and old clientele.
