How many machines you decide to install is an important decision. More machines does not equal more profit. At Slices Concession, we recommend starting with 3 to 6 machines if you are starting out. 

You should consider these factors:

1. Size of your location

It is important to consider that each machine usually requires 5-8 inches between each other. That being said, the length depends on machine specification. Feel free to contact us for exact specifications. You should also keep in mind that you need space for countertops, sinks, air conditioning, and seating.

2. Cost

Many people get too caught up in the numbers. While numbers are critical, understand that you should only purchase what you can afford.

3. Competitors

It is always a good idea to keep an eye out for what your competitors are doing. What are they offering? How many machines do they have? If you were their customer, would you be happy with the amount of flavors they offer? 

4. Overhead

Machine maintenance, production capacity, and cooling systems should also be factored into your decision. Production capacity depends on whether you use a 1-phase or 3-phase machine. Furthermore, the cooling systems can be either water or air cooled.
