Used equipment can be either be a great value or a big risk. Our factory-trained technicians take the risk out of the equation by putting every machine through a rigorous 22-Point Inspection—delivering reliability without the uncertainty.

Where Reliability Begins

We only sell machines that we have personally inspected and tested. When a machine arrives at Slices Concession, it doesn’t go straight to the sales floor. First, it must pass our 22-Point Inspection—a rigorous testing process led by our factory-trained specialists. This is the first step in earning the Slices Certified badge and ensuring that every machine we sell meets our high standards for performance, reliability, and longevity.


Structural & Exterior Condition

Frame & Panel Restoration

Repair or replace panels and repaint the frame.

Caster & Leg Check

Inspect casters and legs for stability and smooth mobility.

Hopper Cover & Drip Tray Replacement

Replace damaged hopper covers, hopper gasket, and drip trays.

Electrical Cord & Connection

Check power cord and plug for damage.


Internal Components & Mechanical Performance

Cooling System Check

Inspect condenser fan operation, clean condensers, check or change refrigerant, adjust E.P.R. valves, and set expansion valves to proper PSI.

Water System Inspection

Check for water leaks, check/replace water-cooled water valves, and winterize all water-cooled units.

Compressor Functionality

Record compressor head pressures, check compressor amperage draws, replace capacitors, and check initial freeze-down time.

Cycle & Performance Testing

Check cycle times and adjust draw switches.

Electrical System Inspection

Tighten all electrical connections, clean contacts on all electrical starters, and check/replace contactors and relays.

Drive System Alignment

Check drive shaft alignment and set drive couplings.

Pulley & Belt Maintenance

Check pulley alignment, adjust belts, and replace belts.

Fresh Tune-Up & Blades

Install a new tune-up kit and replace scraper blades.


Freezing Cylinders & Mix Hoppers

Beater System Maintenance

Inspect barrel, drive shaft, drive shaft coupling, and beater assemblies for damage.

Beater & Motor Performance Test

Check beater motor amperage draws, replace capacitors, check beater motor reset buttons.

Temperature Calibration

Measure and set hopper, freezing cylinder, and stand-by temperatures.

Hopper & Refrigeration Inspection

Check hopper refrigeration, replace capillary lines, and inspect for damage.

Freezer Door & Valve Inspection

Check/replace freezer door, draw valves, and prime plugs.

Mix Monitoring System

Check mix indicator lights & sensors.

Pump & Feed Tube Inspection

Inspect or replace pump parts and inspect feed tube.

Draw Valve Operation

Adjust draw switches for proper dispensing function.


Dispensing System & Final Testing

Testing with Real Ice Cream Mix

Run the machine under real world operating conditions to ensure proper performance.

Detailed Cleaning & Quality Control

Full internal and external cleaning of all parts and surfaces followed by a Quality Control Inspection to ensure your machine is ready to go!
