We interviewed the successful frozen dessert cart company, Icicle Tricycle. With clients using their carts, for boardwalks, weddings, and have even been featured on the hit show, Shark Tank. We spoke to Ryan Hashagen, who started the ice cream cart company very young, while he was still in high school! “During the last twenty years, I’ve become a business consultant to our clients,” says Hashagen. “While we work with national and corporate brands, we also pride ourselves on working with small businesses that are just starting up.” What got Hashagen into the industry was being able to help inspire and get people involved with cold treats.

With ice cream being so popular in the 1920s, many of the carts have a vintage flair for them. “Having them at retirement homes, it’s always rewarding to see the look of nostalgia in the older generation,” says Hashagen. One of their notable feats is having Coconut Girl, who sells a healthier paleo ice cream alternative, as a client. “Seeing Coconut Girl on Shark Tank was amazing because I remember when she was working on the beach! We work so closely with our customers that it becomes a real relationship.” 

The creativity doesn’t stop there, they also feature custom wraps such as vinyl wrap branding, with options such as providing Adobe Illustrator, clients can feature any custom graphic to truly make their goal a reality. Hashagen’s favorite part of the dessert industry is “working with the national brands, and also getting a kick of working with local clients such as schools and even little league games. It’s a total joy working with a wide range of people.” 

Their talent also expands to tradeshows, they are able to design display carts for clients in different countries.
